China Issues New National Standard for Oil & Gas Exploration Equipment, Regulating MWD

This standard specifies technical requirements and test methods for MWD systems, aiming to unify technical specifications, improve downhole operational safety and efficiency, and promote technological advancement in the industry.

Recently, the national standard "Petroleum and natural gas drilling and production equipment — Electromagnetic wave transmission measurement-while-drilling systems" was approved and released. It was led by the CNPC Engineering Technology Research Institute. This standard specifies technical requirements and test methods for MWD systems, aiming to unify technical specifications, improve downhole operational safety and efficiency, and promote technological advancement in the industry.
